"You're ruining your own company," "This dude is a sad human being," - Fans react to Tony Khan's shocking WWE comparison

AEW President Tony Khan has taken a major shot at WWE today and many fans did not appreciate his comment. All Elite Wrestling ran an angle at the conclusion of last week's episode of Dynamite that saw Khan get attacked by the returning Jack Perry and The Elite.

Khan appeared in a neckbrace alongside his father, Shahid Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also sported the neck brace during an interview with NFL Network and noted that his promotion competed with WWE.

He claimed AEW was like Pepsi, while his competition was like the Harvey Weinstein of professional wrestling. Vince McMahon resigned from the company in January due to allegations he sex-trafficked a former employee. The X account 'Wrestle Ops' shared Tony Khan's comments on the NFL Network on social media earlier today.

"AEW, like the Pepsi of pro-wrestling, WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro-wrestling," said Khan. [From 00:13 - 00:18]

The X user 'AIRGold_' noted that despite being an AEW fan they thought Khan's comment went too far. Many of the responses appear to agree that his comment was out of line.

"THIS DUDE IS A SAD HUMAN BEING," one fan wrote.
"I'm sure this will go over well on the internet", said another fan.
"Please Tony just stop, you're ruining your own company," wrote another X user.

Tony Khan has positioned All Elite Wrestling as a challenger brand to WWE and it will be interesting to see if he takes any more shots at the promotion this weekend.

Former WWE star Miro (Rusev) comments on working for Tony Khan

Miro has not been seen since his victory over Andrade El Idolo at AEW Worlds End last December. Andrade has since returned to WWE and aligned with the Latino World Order.

Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter in an exclusive interview, the veteran discussed what it was like working for Khan. He claimed that his boss was great and he respects Khan's love for professional wrestling.

"Tony is great, he is creative. His mind is always running. Always thinks about wrestling. He's always thinking about how to get things better. I respect that he loves wrestling, as he did all his life, and how he's carrying that to second or one of the biggest companies in the world," said Miro. [From 03:02 - 03:21]
