The WWE Draft is set to kick off tonight on SmackDown and conclude on the following RAW. Recent reports claim major concerns within NXT ahead of the roster shake-up.

In addition to the main roster superstars, performers from the developmental brand have also been included in the Draft pool. Several NXT Superstars may receive call-ups to the main roster. It has also been confirmed that all champions except for the Kabuki Warriors will be protected from the shuffle and stay on their respective brands.

According to recent reports from Fightful, there is concern lingering in NXT that the Draft might strip the brand of its top superstars. Reportedly, there is also a sense of fear among the talent that they might receive a call-up to the main roster without any proper plans.

Several NXT Superstars over the years have failed to replicate the success they had on the developmental brand on the main roster. Many top performers even had to drop the gimmick that helped them succeed and portray a different character altogether.

Former WWE Champion might return from injury after the Draft

WWE has included Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman, two superstars who have been forced out of action due to injury, in the 2024 Draft pool. While The Visionary's last in-ring appearance was at WrestleMania XL, The Monster Among Men has been absent from the wrestling promotion for a long time.

The 40-year-old last competed in May 2023 before suffering a neck injury that forced him to undergo level-one fusion surgery on his C4 and C5 vertebrae the following month. Despite his absence, the Stamford-based company has included The Monster Among Men in the Draft pool, teasing his potential return to in-ring action.

Before his unfortunate injury, Braun Strowman was part of an unusual tag team with Ricochet. The high flyer is currently involved in a rivalry with The Judgment Day. The former WWE Universal Champion might return to help his former partner take down the heel faction.

There is also a perception among wrestling fans that Strowman might return alongside Uncle Howdy, whose comeback is potentially being teased each week by flashing QR codes during the shows. It remains to be seen when and how WWE decides to bring back the former Money in the Bank winner.
