Jimmy Butler proved why he was just what the Golden State Warriors needed. The 6x NBA All-Star was a force in what was a physical Game 4 of the 2025 NBA playoffs against Houston Rockets at the Chase Center on Monday.
The veteran forward switched to 'Playoff Jimmy' mode in the second half to finish with 27 points, five rebounds, six assists, and a block in over 39 minutes of action to help the Warriors edge the Rockets 109-106.
Earlier, coming back to the matchup after missing the previous game due to a deep glute contusion injury, Butler had four points, two rebounds, two assists, and a block to show for it. He ended up shooting 7-12 from the field and 1-2 from the deep. Butler's playmaking and efforts on the defensive end were a solid boost for what has been a physical series so far with Game 4 being no exception.
Speaking to the reporters after the win, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr lavished praise on Butler for his dogged determination. The 35-year-old suited up despite battling an injury and this saw Kerr in awe of his efforts.
Steve Kerr on Jimmy Butler: “If it were the regular season, he’d probably miss another week or two. But it’s the playoffs and he’s Jimmy Butler.”
Butler has been the perfect foil for Steph Curry and the forward has been impressive so far in the postseason. He made up for missing his last game with a series of solid plays in Game 4 and Golden State will hope he can sustain the same momentum as they look to close things out in Game 5 on Wednesday.
