AS Monaco and Stade Brestois get round 12 of French Ligue 1 underway when they lock horns at the Stade Louis II on Friday. Eric Roy’s men will head into the weekend looking to get one over the home side, having lost their last five clashes since October 2021.

AS Monaco picked up back-to-back wins for the first time since September as they edged out Strasbourg 3-1 at the Stade de la Meinau just before the international break.

Prior to that, Adolf Hutter’s side snapped their run of two consecutive defeats on November 5, when they secured a 1-0 victory over Italian outfit Bologna in the UEFA Champions League.

Monaco have won seven of their 11 Ligue 1 matches so far while losing twice and claiming two draws to collect 23 points and sit second on the table, six points off first-placed Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, Stade Brestois were condemned to consecutive league losses for the first time since August as they were beaten 3-1 by Montpellier at the Stade de la Mosson last time out.

Sandwiched between the two league defeats, Roy’s men secured a 2-1 victory over Sparta Prague in the Champions League, where they are one of just six unbeaten sides in the campaign and sit fourth in the table.

Brest have picked up 13 points from their 11 Ligue 1 matches so far to sit 12th in the standings, level on points with 11th-placed Strasbourg.
