Liverpool secured a thumping 4-0 win against Accrington Stanley at Anfield in Round 3 of the FA Cup on Saturday, January 11. The Reds now progress to Round 4, while the visitors bow out after having started the tournament in Round 1.

Arne Slot significantly rotated his XI for this match, giving starts to fringe players like Wataru Endo, Tyler Morton and Rio Ngumoha. This worked wonders as Liverpool made a dominant start to the game and kept the ball for 85% of the first period. Accrington were barely given a sniff of the ball in the first period as they attempted just one shot and failed to hit the target.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were on the mark and looked threatening from the get-go. They scored the first goal of the contest in the 29th minute courtesy of Diogo Jota, with Darwin Nunez providing the assist for the goal. The Reds continued pushing forward in search of more goals and doubled their lead before the break. Trent Alexander-Arnold converted from Dominik Szoboszlai's assist to make it 2-0.

Liverpool led Accrington Stanley 2-0 at the half-time interval.

Slot brought on Federico Chiesa during the interval, while Accrington manager John Doolan opted for two changes as well. Both managers made multiple changes at the start of the second half as the visitors showed some spirit and held their own for about 30 minutes. However, Liverpool were through again after that period, as Jayden Danns tripled their lead in the 76th minute.

Two more substitutes got in on the scoring act late in the game to secure an emphatic result for Liverpool. Trey Nyoni set up Federico Chiesa for a good goal in the 90th minute to add extra sheen to an already dominant scoreline. Despite nearly 30% possession and seven shots, Accrington failed to hit the target as they succumbed to a 4-0 defeat and crashed out.

On that note, let's take a look at the Reds' player ratings.
