Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about potentially playing professional football alongside his son Cristiano Jr. The legendary Portuguese striker recently had an interview with YouTube sensation Mr Beast, where he spoke about what the future might hold.
Mr Beast spoke about how basketball legend LeBron James has started playing with his son Bronny James. The two were part of the Los Angeles Lakers' win over Minnesota Timberwolves on October 23, with Bronny making his debut and playing nearly three minutes with his father.
On YouTube channel UR Cristiano, Mr Beast asked Cristiano Ronaldo:
"It's crazy that LeBron is now playing with his son, are you going to make that happen in the football world?"
The Portuguese legend admitted that age might be a barrier:
"Maybe, we'll see, he's 14 now."
The YouTube sensation pushed further:
"Maybe get him to play at 17 and you can play for 3 more years?"
Ronaldo, however, remained uncertain, responding:
"Let's see, let's see how my legs are doing."
Currently, Cristiano Jr plays with Al-Nassr's youth team, while Cristiano Sr plays for the Saudi Arabian giants' first team. The duo moved to the Middle East in January 2023, with Ronaldo signing a mega-contract that is widely reported to be in the $200 million-per-year range. Time will tell if the young Cristiano can break into the first team and join his father in the coming years.
Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about his potential retirement, admitting that he is not focused on it currently. He was on international duty with Portugal, scoring two goals in a 5-1 Nations League group-stage win over Poland on November 15 at the Estadio do Dragao.
When asked about his retirement plans, the Portuguese icon said (via Tribuna):
“I just want to enjoy. Plan for the retirement… if it has to happen, in one or two years… I don’t know. I’m turning 40 soon… I really want to enjoy, as long as I feel motivated I keep going. The day I don’t feel motivated, I will retire."
He spoke about playing with his son in the future, revealing:
“My son tells me: dad, hold on a few more years, I want to play with you!”
Cristiano Ronaldo also spoke about potentially retiring from international duty with Portugal, adding:
"When I decide to leave the national team, I'll do it spontaneously but thoughtfully. There won't be any advance announcements."
In the meantime, Ronaldo will return to Saudi Arabia, where he will lead Al-Nassr in their next Saudi Pro League match against Al-Qadisiyah on November 22 at Al-Awwal Park.
