Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has outlined Hansi Flick's impact at the club this season. The Polish forward reckoned that all the players are now doing better and feeling much stronger as a unit under the former Bayern Munich tactician.
It goes without mentioning that Flick has initiated an unbelievable turnaround at Barcelona this season. The Blaugrana are the most feared team in Europe at the moment, with their massive victories against the likes of Sevilla, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid taking the football world by storm.
The plaudits continue to rain on Flick for this incredible transformation. Robert Lewandowski is the latest to give the German boss his flowers. Speaking to The Athletic, the Barcelona striker hailed the impact of the 59-year-old at the club this season.
"Every individual in the club is doing better,” he said. “We, the players, are doing great on the pitch. I also think we all feel stronger."
“When you have this fitness preparation we have now, you don’t need to worry about keeping the physical demands of the game and then also think about how to beat your opponent. We now know we are fine, we have the power and the legs to do what we need," he added.
Barcelona's resurgence has been quite massive this season, all thanks to Hansi Flick. The Catalan giants currently sit atop the La Liga table with 33 points in 13 games - having bagged 11 wins and two defeats so far - scoring 40 goals and conceding 12 in the process. They've also won three of their four fixtures in the UEFA Champions League and are well on course to progress into the next round.
Age doesn't seem to be having any bearing on Robert Lewandowski's performances in front of goal this season. The 36-year-old has been a nightmare to opposition goalkeepers, scoring almost at will and deciding the fate of important games.
So far, the Polish forward has recorded an impressive 19 goals and two assists to his name in 17 appearances across all competitions. That includes 14 goals and two assists in La Liga, as well as five goals in the Champions League.
Interestingly, the striker has proven to be a big-game player, scoring against the likes of Valencia, Athletic Bilbao, Villarreal, Sevilla, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.
Up next, Barcelona will lock horns with Celta Vigo in La Liga action today (Saturday November 23) and Robert Lewandowski is expected to maintain his spot in Hansi Flick's line-up.
