Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe is being investigated for the rape of a woman in Sweden. According to a report in The Scottish Sun, police have seized a pair of underwear and other clothing from the hotel Mbappe stayed at and where a woman was attacked. The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star was in the Nordic country during the international break.

The woman in question has been admitted to a hospital ward for rape victims in Stockholm. The police have begun investigations at the Bank Hotel where the incident allegedly took place. The cops have recently taken a pair of underwear, black trousers, and a black top from a hotel room for further analysis, as per Expressen. However, it is not yet known who owns these clothing items.

Mbappe's lawyer Canu Bernard has claimed that her client is innocent. She told TF1 News (via The Scottish Sun):

"He is never alone. He is never exposed to a situation where he would be taking a risk. And so, this totally excludes the fact that there could have been reprehensible actions on his part."

Kylian Mbappe and his friends visited the Chez Jolie restaurant in Stockholm before hitting the V nightclub on the night of the alleged incident. The Real Madrid star has denied all the allegations and has not yet been named as a suspect by the authorities.

"These accusations are completely false and irresponsible" - Member of Kylian Mbappe's entourage amid rape investigation of Real Madrid star

An unnamed member of Kylian Mbappe's entourage has fired back at the reports linking the superstar with the rape of a woman at the Bank Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. A woman was allegedly raped at the hotel the 25-year-old footballer stayed at during his two-day trip to the North European nation. Media reports from the country have suggested that the Frenchman might be involved.

Expressen and AFP have linked the 25-year-old Real Madrid forward with the assault and were among the first Swedish outlets to break the news. The handling of the affair has left the members of Mbappe's entourage far from impressed. An unnamed member told AFP (via The Scottish Sun):

"A new slanderous rumor is starting to spread across the web from the Swedish media Aftonbladet. These accusations are completely false and irresponsible, and their propagation is unacceptable."
"In order to put an end to this methodical destruction all necessary legal actions will be taken to re-establish the truth and pursue any person or media involved in the moral harassment and defamatory treatment that Kylian Mbappe is suffering repeatedly," they added.

Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid this summer on a free transfer from PSG and has enjoyed a successful campaign so far. He helped his new side lift the UEFA Super Cup and has registered seven goals and one assist in 887 minutes across 11 games for Los Blancos.
