European giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Barcelona are interested in signing Liverpool superstar Luis Diaz, as per latest reports. The Colombian winger first joined the Merseyside club from FC Porto in 2022 for a reported €52 million transfer fee.

The 27-year-old has been a part of a Liverpool side that has lost just one game in the entire season so far. They sit atop the points table in both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League under new manager Arne Slot. Diaz has been a major part of their frontline this season, scoring 11 and creating three more in 23 games across competitions.

As per a report from Antena 2 (h/t PSG Talk), Barcelona and PSG were the first two sides to be interested in signing Diaz. Both clubs were willing to table offers of up to €80 million. Serie A giants AC Milan have also emerged as a serious contender for the Colombian star in recent times.

PSG have lacked firepower up front this season, especially in the UEFA Champions League. Les Parisiens are currently 25th in the Champions League table with just seven points in six games.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are struggling with Financial Fair Play rules. The Catalan giants are having to activate financial levers to register players like Dani Olmo, making it unlikely that they will be able to sign Diaz.

As per the report, PSG are prepared to offer €60 million plus a player for the Colombian, but Liverpool aren't open to negotiating for Diaz. As per CaughtOffside, the club's management assured Luis Diaz in December that they were satisfied with his performances and had no intention of selling him in January.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona. The 27-year-old joined the Spanish giants from Ajax in the summer of 2019 for a reported €86 million.

However, he has fallen in the pecking order under newly appointed manager Hansi Flick. In the 2024-25 season, the Dutch superstar has made just 13 appearances across competitions for the Catalan giants, scoring a goal and an assist each. Among them, he has made the starting eleven in just two games.

As per a report by TEAMtalk, The Reds have earmarked De Jong as one of their prime targets in the upcoming transfer windows. With Barcelona reportedly willing to sell him for €29 million, The Reds are expected to make a move for the Dutchman in 2025.

However, Frenkie de Jong's wages will be a problem for the English giants. At present, the Dutchman is reportedly on a € 484,615-per-week contract with Barcelona, and Liverpool will not likely match the figure. It remains to be seen if the Dutch midfielder will be open to taking a significant wage cut to leave the Catalan side.
