Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire have picked up knocks. As such, both players are set to be out for a few weeks, according to a report by Utd District.

These latest injuries add to the list of absentees at the club as Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Leny Yoro are also currently injured. The Red Devils boss made this revelation in a press conference ahead of their clash against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday, October 19.

Ten Hag was quoted as saying:

"Injuries do not help, for sure, you need players availavle to peform. Kobbie [Mainoo] and Harry [Maguire] are out for a couple of weeks, but Mazraoui is good news. He has returned on the training pitch and is available tomorrow."

While Maguire and Mainoo are currently out, Noussair Mazraoui would be available for selection. His presence at right-back would be crucial for Manchester United, who would be without some of their key players.

Manchester United would be eager to secure a win this weekend as they've failed to secure a victory in their last five games across all competitions. Anything other than a victory would be a disappointing result as they have only registered eight points from seven league games so far.

During the just-concluded international break, some of the Red Devils supporters expected the club hierarchy to make a decision regarding Ten Hag's future. However, it didn't happen and the Dutchman is still in charge. As such, the manager is expected to turn things around as the Red Devils are currently five points above the relegation zone in the league.

With the growing number of injured players at Old Trafford, there's no doubt that Ten Hag's task is a huge one. Similarly, their next five fixtures across all competitions are quite tricky. Manchester United would face Brentford, Fenerbahce, West Ham United, Leicester City, and Chelsea in their next five games.

The Red Devils would have to get decent results in their forthcoming games if they intend to salvage their campaign.
