Trent Alexander-Arnold and Darwin Nunez had to be separated from Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk in the dressing room after the Reds played a 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday, January 5. According to a report by CaughOffside, the Liverpool stars were involved in a heated confrontation after the Premier League clash ended.

The Reds captain was unhappy with the performance of his teammates as he blamed Alexander-Arnold for the conceded goals. Rumors also claim that the players nearly came to blows amid frustrations over Alexander-Arnold's contract situation and his links with Real Madrid. Van Dijk had also looked visibly disappointed with the English defender during their match against Manchester United.

It's also stated that the two players squared up against each other as stewards heard sounds of throwing items. The situation in the Liverpool dressing room is getting tense as Trent Alexander-Arnold may be nearing an exit from the Merseyside club.

The Reds were major favorites to win the match as Manchester United were on a three-match losing streak in the Premier League. Instead, they ended up dropping two points at Anfield. Nevertheless, they are at the top of the Premier League table with 46 points in 19 matches.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim's Manchester United are 13th in the league table with 23 points in 20 matches.

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Feyenoord attacker Igor Paixao in the upcoming transfer windows, as per CaughtOffside. The Reds see Igor Paixao as a replacement for Mohamed Salah as he is nearing the end of his contract and there is no agreement on a contract extension yet.

Igor Paixao joined Feyenoord in August 2022 from Brazilian side Coritiba FC. Since joining the Eredivisie giants, the Brazilian attacker has made 106 appearances across all competitions, bagging 26 goals and 23 assists.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal sees Igor Paixao as an alternate for Bukayo Saka, who's expected to be on sidelines due to a long-term hamstring injury.

His transfer fee is expected to be around €30 to €35 million. In addition to the two Premier League sides, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, West Ham United, and Roma are also interested in signing the 24-year-old attacker.
