Arsenal are in a three-horse race with Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Newcastle United in a bid to sign former Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio. The 28-year-old currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and has racked up two goals and four assists in 15 games this season.

However, much of his time on the pitch has come from the bench, rather than in the starting lineup. In the Champions League, he has started two games, and in Ligue 1, he has started just eight games so far. Despite joining the club in the summer of 2023 on a free from Madrid, he has yet to ensure his place in the starting XI.

The situation has put some uncertainty on Marco Asensio's future at PSG, while clubs in the Premier League are monitoring his situation. Arsenal have shown interest in the winger in recent times, but they have not pushed to bid for him yet. However, with Bukayo Saka out injured for the foreseeable future, a move for Asensio could be in the works.

According to Caught Offside (via Hard Tackle), the Gunners could sign him for up to €30 million, which is the fee PSG have reportedly placed on him. In their potential chase for Asensio, Arsenal will need to be cautious about other interested Premier Laegue clubs - Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Real Madrid have received positive update regarding interest in Arsenal defender

Real Madrid have received a positive update regarding their strong interest in Arsenal defender William Saliba. In recent transfer windows, Los Blancos have kept the Frenchman on their radar, following his impressive performances with the Gunners.

The 23-year-old has provided strength at the back in the last two Premier League seasons, helping Arsenal finish in second place both times. This season, he has continued in similar form, conceding 12 goals in the 18 Premier League games he has played in. He has also helped the Gunners keep seven clean sheets in those games.

Real Madrid are looking to enhance their defensive options, following long-term injuries to players like Eder Militao and David Alaba. According to a report from Spanish outlet SPORT (via Football Espana), Los Blancos have been handed a positive update. Saliba's camp is believed to be interested in moving to Bernabeu.

While the Gunners are expected to demand around €100 million for the defender's services, they are not particularly interested in selling him. However, the report claims that if Real Madrid were to make an offer, he would ask the Gunners for a transfer.
