Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is allegedly unhappy with Aurelien Tchouameni due to the defensive midfielder's recent performances for the club.
Tchouameni, 24, has established himself as a regular starter for Los Merengues since arriving from AS Monaco for an initial £68 million in 2022. He has guided them to eight trophies so far, making 110 total appearances along the way.
Now, according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Perez is unhappy with Tchouameni and is analysing his situation with general manager Jose Angel Sanchez. He has told the midfielder to improve his form in the ongoing campaign.
Meanwhile, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, Tchouameni has drawn interest from Liverpool in the recent few weeks. They are willing to pay £29 million plus around £13 million in add-ons to snap up the Manchester City-linked midfielder.
So far this campaign, Tchouameni has started 20 of his 21 appearances across competitions for Real Madrid. The Girondins Bordeaux youth product has yet to register a goal involvement and has even played a few times at centre-back.
Speaking to The Sports Agents podcast, former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp asserted that Trent Alexander-Arnold's recent poor display against Manchester United is down to attention from Real Madrid. He said (h/t GOAL):
"It does feel like all of a sudden the whole narrative about Madrid has sort of started to take over, and I think that's probably come because Madrid made the bid. I think that's probably brought it to the forefront. And maybe by trying to be a little bit clever, almost trying to help Trent, I think they've actually made the situation worse."
Redknapp, who represented the Reds between 1991 and 2002, added:
"I think there's only one club as a player where you just... with that white kit, and when Real Madrid come calling, it's almost impossible to turn down. My view is if you get an opportunity to go and try something, try a different culture, go and do something different in your life, in your career, how can he begrudge anyone that?"
Last week, The Times reported Los Blancos lodged a £20 million bid to sign Alexander-Arnold in the winter transfer window. However, Liverpool quickly rebuffed the offer and asserted they have no intention of selling their star this season.
Alexander-Arnold, 26, has started 23 of his 25 appearances across competitions for his team so far this campaign. The right-back has found the back of the opposition net once and laid out five assists in 1887 minutes of action this term.
