Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a fresh move for Manchester City target Martin Zubimendi in January. As reported by TEAMtalk, the Reds are ready to reignite their interest in the Spaniard after missing out on him in the summer.

Zubimendi was heavily linked with a switch to Anfield in the summer, with Arne Slot reportedly eyeing him as his No. 6. However, the Spaniard stayed put at Real Sociedad, snubbing offers from the Merseyside giants.

While Slot has enjoyed a phenomenal start to life at Liverpool, the Merseyside giants are still believed to be keen on the 25-year-old. It has been claimed that they are ready to make another attempt to secure Zubimendi's signature in January.

Zubimendi has also been strongly linked with a switch to Manchester City in recent weeks. With the Cityzens losing their star defensive midfielder Rodri to a season-ending ACL injury, Pep Guardiola has reportedly set his sights on the Real Sociedad midfielder.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the Spain international who was a part of La Roja's UEFA European Championship and UEFA Nations League-winning sides. The defensive midfielder could be considered a bargain, thanks to his reported £50.1 million release clause.

Zubimendi came through Real Sociedad's youth ranks and has been one of the key players for the La Liga giants in recent years. The Liverpool and Manchester City target has made 204 appearances across competitions for the Spanish outfit, scoring nine times while producing another nine assists.
