Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Randal Kolo Muani, who's also attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea. The Frenchman could leave Paris Saint-Germain in January amidst a lack of playing time.
Kolo Muani joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 and registered 12 goals and six assists in 44 games across competitions last season. This season, however, he's struggled to find game time, starting just two games across competitions. Overall, he's made 14 appearances, recording two goals and one assist.
As per TEAMtalk (via PSG Talk), Kolo Muani is likely to leave PSG next year and could leave as soon as January. Many Premier League clubs are interested in signing him, including Manchester United and Chelsea. The Frenchman is likely to cost around £50 million (as per Football Insider), with his contract expiring in 2028.
The Red Devils are looking at Kolo Muani as a potential replacement for Marcus Rashford. Ruben Amorim has left the Englishman out of his squad in the last four games and he's widely expected to leave Old Trafford. The Blues, meanwhile, are looking to add competition for Nicolas Jackson in the striker position.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a potential move for Kolo Muani as they are dealing with numerous injury issues. The Gunners have lost Bukayo Saka to a long-term injury while Raheem Sterling is also out injured. Spurs, meanwhile, are dealing with long-term injuries to Richarlison and Wilson Odobert while Mikey Moore has also been out for a few weeks.
Manchester United and Chelsea have had contrasting 2024-25 campaigns so far. The Red Devils sit 14th in the Premier League table, 20 points behind leaders and rivals Liverpool, who have a game in hand. The Blues, meanwhile, are third, seven points behind the Merseysiders.
However, both sides suffered defeat in their Boxing Day matches. Manchester United lost 2-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford, making in their third loss in a row across competitions. Chelsea, meanwhile, lost 2-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage, making it the second consecutive game in which they've dropped points.
Both sides will now look to bounce back again on their final matchdays of 2024 on Monday, December 30. The Red Devils will host Newcastle United at Old Trafford while Chelsea will face Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
