Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United forwards Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee, and Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils, on the other hand, are interested in signing Victor Osimhen and could use a swap deal.
Osimhen was linked with a number of clubs last summer, with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) the frontrunners. However, a deal never materialized and he eventually ended up joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal. The striker is still widely expected to leave the Gli Azzurri in the summer.
As per TBR Football (via SportBible), Osimhen has been offered to Manchester United, who are considering a move to sign him. They could look for a swap deal in the summer, with Napoli also interested in three United attackers. The Italian giants are interested in Rashford, Hojlund and Zirkzee.
Rashford has been linked away from Old Trafford after being left out of the squad in their last three games. He also hinted in a recent interview that he is ready for a new challenge. Zirkzee, meanwhile, joined the club from Bologna last summer but has failed to make a big impact, contributing just four goals and two assists in 25 games.
Hojlund has also contributed just seven goals and one assist in 20 games across competitions and could potentially make way for Osimhen.
Former United striker Louis Saha believes his former club should sign Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker has been in prolific form for Galatasaray on loan this season, recording 12 goals and five assists in 15 games across competitions.
In a recent interview, Saha said that while it'll be a difficult signing, Osimhen would be a perfect player for the Red Devils.
"It would be a difficult signing to make, but I think Victor Osimhen is exactly the type of striker Manchester United need," Saha said. "I don’t know if it’s a realistic option because he is on loan at Galatasaray, but if you’re talking about a proven goal scorer with pedigree, he is the man. He would instantly improve the team.
"If you signed Osimhen, you’re not signing potential. You know exactly what he is going to give you. A striker like Osimhen is exactly the kind of signing that Manchester United need to make. If it takes a lot of money, and it will to sign Osimhen, you go and do it."
Manchester United have scored just 21 goals in 17 games in the Premier League this season, with only four teams having scored fewer. Meanwhile, the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked with a potential move for Osimhen.
