Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly ready to let former Manchester United target Evan Ferguson leave on loan in January. As reported by Sam Wallace and Matt Law of The Telegraph, the Seagulls are open to letting the highly rated striker leave on loan.

Ferguson has struggled for playing time under Fabian Hurzler this season having managed just 105 minutes of Premier League action so far. Danny Welbeck, Georginio Rutter, and Joao Pedro are all above the Irishman in the German manager's pecking order.

With Brighton doing really well and Welbeck, Rutter, and Pedro all impressing up front, Ferguson has been only a bit-part player. The 20-year-old is understood to be desperate for regular first-team football and Brighton would be open to a loan deal.

Leicester City, Fulham, West Ham, and Newcastle United are all thought to be keen on the Irishman as they look to bolster their attacks. Ferguson is reportedly keen on staying in the Premier League rather than moving down to the Championship.

Ferguson has seen his stock fall significantly in recent months following an ankle injury he suffered earlier this year. He underwent surgery on his ankle in April and missed most of Huerzler’s pre-season which saw him fall down the pecking order.

The Irishman was previously regarded as one of the finest young strikers in Europe and attracted interest from a host of clubs. Manchester United were among the biggest clubs reportedly interested in his signature.

Ferguson joined Brighton in 2021 from Bohemians and has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 74 appearances for the Seagulls. He signed a six-year deal at the Amex Stadium last year and is reportedly valued at £60 million.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta sends message to newly appointed Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has sent a message to Manchester United's newly appointed head coach Ruben Amorim. The Spaniard wished the 39-year-old well for his spell at Old Trafford while insisting that he has a big challenge on his hands.

Amorim was appointed by Manchester United as their new head coach on November 1 although he actually took over on November 11. His first game in charge for the Red Devils saw them draw 1-1 against Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 24.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal's Champions League fixture against Amorim's former club Sporting CP, Arteta said, as quoted by GOAL:

"Amorim is an excellent coach, with a special career, who achieved something historic at Sporting, especially in terms of form. He has a very nice challenge ahead of him at one of the most important clubs in the world and I hope it goes well for him."

Ruben Amorim previously served Casa Pia, Braga B, Braga and Sporting CP as a manager. The now-Manchester United head coach won one Taca de Liga with Braga and won five trophies during his time at Sporting, including two Primeira Liga titles.
