Serie A club Juventus are reportedly trying to convince Barcelona star Ronald Araujo to join them by 'all means possible'. As per journalist Matteo Moretto, they are all set to hold talks with Barcelona once the Catalan giants' Supercopa de Espana campaign is over.

Ronald Araujo is an important member of Hansi Flick's contingent and has been a top performer at centre-back. After gaining promotion from the Barcelona B side back in 2020, Araujo has been rock solid at the back for the Catalan giants.

Impressed by his performance, Barcelona were compelled to hand him a contract extension back in 2022. The current deal keeps him at the club till the summer of 2026. However, convincing Barcelona is a tough job, keeping in mind Araujo's importance in Flick's system.

The Uruguayan defender is a leader at the back, who can operate both as a central defender and also a full-back at times of need. However, at this moment, Araujo has just recovered from an injury he suffered in pre-season and is yet to feature in a game in LaLiga.

In December 2024, he had a place on the bench against CD Leganes and Atletico Madrid in the LaLiga and against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League. However, Flick refrained from giving him minutes.

The defender returned to the starting lineup and featured in the entire fixture against UD Barbastro in the Copa del Rey on January 4. Flick's side won that game 4-0 and Araujo provided an assist in his sole appearance so far this season.

Meanwhile, Juventus are currently fifth in the Serie A standings. They have won seven fixtures, drawn 11 and have conceded 15 times in the process. Only league leaders Napoli have conceded fewer goals than them - 12.

Bringing in Araujo in January will definitely help Thiago Motta's side further solidify their defence and help them explore better attacking possibilities going ahead.

A look at Barcelona's upcoming games

The Catalan giants have a tough set of matches awaiting them in the next few days. They are set to take on Athletic Club in the semi-finals of the Supercopa de Espana tonight (January 8). Following that fixture, they will face Real Betis in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey.

LaLiga action for Hansi Flick's side will resume on 18 January when they take on Getafe away from home.
