Serie A side Fiorentina have emerged as the most likely destination for out-of-favor Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa in January. The European Championship-winning Italian winger has not been able to impress in English football following his move from Italy last summer.

Chiesa, once regarded as one of the biggest prospects in world football, came through the youth ranks of Fiorentina. He then moved to Juventus initially on loan in 2020 before moving permanently in 2022.

The fleet-footed technically gifted winger became one of the key players for Juventus and Italy. However, things went downhill for him in Turin because of injury problems before he was shown the exit door last summer.

Liverpool chose to gamble on the 51-cap Italy international when he was available for just £12.5 million last summer. However, the gamble has not paid off as Chiesa has only played 123 minutes of football for the Reds this season.

During his time at Anfield, the 27-year-old has struggled with a muscle injury and is seemingly struggling to adjust to English football. A move back to Serie A is reportedly on the cards for him in January, with multiple Italian clubs interested in his services.

As reported by Fichajes.net, it is Fiorentina who lead the race to sign their former academy graduate Chiesa. The Viola are 5th in the Serie A table this season under Raffaele Palladino.

Someone like Chiesa could be a big addition to Fiorentina their pursuit of Champions League football. Chiesa made 153 appearances for them during his time at the club scoring 34 goals and providing 26 assists.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah opens up on his relationship with Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has revealed that he is in regular talks with Jurgen Klopp following the German's departure in the summer. The two appeared to have a strained relationship towards the end of the last campaign and even had a bust-up against West Ham United.

Salah has now revealed that he regularly chats with Klopp on text messages and the two speak more now than when they were together at Anfield. On being asked about his chemistry with Klopp, Salah told Sky Sports, as quoted by TBR Football:

“Yeah, it’s fine, we text from time to time. We text more now in the last three months than we have in the last seven years. Honestly, we’ve text more in the last three months than we have in the last seven years, I promise."

Salah was one of the best players under Klopp at Liverpool as they became an English and European powerhouse once again. Klopp signed Salah for just £34.3 million in 2017 from AS Roma and turned him into a superstar.

The Egyptian played 349 times under Klopp, scoring 211 times while producing 88 assists. They won eight trophies together during their time in Merseyside.
