The Australian A-League returns with a fresh set of fixtures as Sydney FC and Perth Glory lock horns at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday. David Zdrilic‘s men will head into the game looking to get one over the hosts, having failed to win their last six clashes since January 2022.

Sydney FC turned in a resilient team display in their first outing of the year as they fought back from two goals down in the final 12 minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw against Newcastle Jets last Saturday.

This followed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Melbourne Victory at the Allianz Stadium on December 28, a result which saw their three-game winless run come to an end.

Sydney have picked up 14 points from their 10 A-League matches so far to sit eighth in the table, level on points with ninth-placed Central Coast Mariners.

Elsewhere, Perth Glory continue to struggle for results at the wrong end of the table as they fell to a 3-2 home defeat against 10-man Western United last time out.

Zdrilic’s side have failed to win 10 of their 11 league matches this season, claiming just five points from a possible 33 to sit bottom but one in the table.

Perth’s underwhelming campaign has been owing to their defensive vulnerability as they have conceded a staggering 30 goals already — five more than any other side in the league.
