Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners will battle for three points in an Australian A League clash on Satuday (January 11th). The home side will be looking to build on the comfortable 3-0 home win they registered over Perth Glory on Wednesday.
All three goals were scored in the second half, with Joe Lolley being the star of the show as he scored a hat-trick to inspire the victory.
Central Coast Mariners, meanwhile, claimed maximum points with a 3-1 away win over Brisbane Roar in their last outing. Walid Shour's 11th-minute own goal put them ahead at the break while Ben Halloran drew the game level in the 71st minute. Harrison Steele and Arthur De Lima scored late goals to help the Mariners claim the win.
The victory left the Yellow and Navy in ninth spot in the standings, having garnered 14 points from 11 games. Sydney are seventh on 17 points.
Sydney have won four of their last five home games across competitions (one loss) and Ufuk Talay's side enter this game as the favorites. However, they are winless in the last three head-to-head games (two losses).
Central Coast Mariners' title defense has gone horribly off course and they are now nine points off table-toppers Auckland. Mark Jackson's side ended a four-game winless run with victory last time out and will be looking to build on this.
We are backing the home side to claim a comfortable win with goals at both ends.
