Director Jon M. Chu's movie Wicked, which hit the theaters on November 22, 2024, revealed its digital release date to be December 31, 2024, as confirmed by When to Stream. The movie is expected to be available on multiple major streaming platforms across the country.
The outlet further confirmed that the digital release would include additional elements like a sing-along version, deleted and extended scenes, and commentaries from the director and actors Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

While many fans seem quite excited with the news about the movie's digital release, it is worth noting that it has already made a gross of more than $350 million to date, as per an article by Variety published on December 26, 2024. In its first Friday to Sunday frame, the film earned about $114 million, as per reports by Forbes dated December 26.
Variety also reported that the movie was nominated for four Golden Globes. Apart from Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the film has an impressive cast including Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage, and Jeff Goldblum.
After the release of this musical fantasy movie, Universal Pictures made an announcement according to which the sequel will be renamed, Wicked: For Good, from the initial one which was Wicked: Part Two.
