Pictures won the rights to the film. It is the fifth collaboration between Ryan Coogler and Micheal B. Jordan, who have previously worked together on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Each of the films has been critically and commercially successful.
Ludwig Göransson, who won his second Academy Award for Oppenheimer’s score is an executive producer on the film. He had worked with Coogler for the music of Ryan Coogler. The production is helmed by Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, along with Ryan himself.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Coogler's mysterious horror movie is a vampire film. The cryptic logline as said by one of Jordan's characters in the film says,
"I’ve been all over this world. I’ve seen men die in ways I ain’t even know was possible. Of all the things that I've seen, I ain't ever seen no demons, no ghosts, no magic...til now."
The trailer also showcased the dark and gloomy atmosphere of a village where the residents are scared of something and have taken up weapons to fight it. The film is produced by Proximity Media and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Here's how the platform describes the plot:
"Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back."
