Unstoppable is a biographical sports drama film directed by William Goldenberg from a script by Eric Campanella, Alex Harris, and John Hindman. It was released theatrically on December 6, 2024, after being premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Special Presentations section on September 6, 2024.
The film tells the true story of Anthony Robles, who became a NCAA Division I wrestling champion despite being born without a leg. He overcame numerous obstacles along the way, including financial hardship and an abusive stepfather.
The film stars Jharrel Jerome as Robles, and Jennifer Lopez as Anthony's mother, Judy Robles. Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Shawn Hatosy, and Don Cheadle, among several others. It was distributed by Amazon MGM Pictures and is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
Jharrel Jerome is playing the lead role of former NCAA Division I wrestling champion, Anthony Robles. Jerome gained prominence for his performance in the 2016 Best Picture Oscar winner, Moonlight. Lopez made her acting debut in 1991, as a Fly Girl on the sketch comedy series In Living Color. Since then, she has been part of projects such as Maid in Manhattan, Shall We Dance?, Monster-in-Law, The Mother, and Atlas.
Micheal Pena rose to prominence for his performance as Luis in Antman and its sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. Earlier, he had starred in many popular films such as Crash, World Trade Center, Shooter, Observe and Report, Tower Heist, Battle: Los Angeles, End of Watch, and Gangster Squad.
He later played the lead role of DEA agent Kiki Camarena in the first season of the Netflix series Narcos: Mexico. In Unstoppable, he plays Anthony's High School coach Bobby Williams.
Don Cheadle is Anthony's coach at the Arizona State University, Sean Charles. Cheadle is known for his versatility in films such as Devil in a Blue Dress, Boogie Nights, The Ocean's Trilogy, and Hotel Rwanda, for which he was nominated for an Oscar.
He plays James Rhodes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has received multiple awards including two Golden Globe Awards, two Grammy, and a Tony.
