Set to release this April 2025, Sony Pictures' Until Dawn is the latest live-action horror movie that has been adapted from a video game. In recent years we have seen quite a few video games being adapted into movies which have achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim. Until Dawn is a much-loved horror video game from Sony which is now being adapted into a movie by the conglomerate.
Sony released a new trailer for the film on January 16, 2025, and also revealed the release date of the movie— April 25, 2025. The trailer gives a glimpse at how the movie captures the intense, spine-chilling essence of the game, and players of the game are excited to see how their favorite video game from the horror genre fares on the big screen.
Sony has shared that Until Dawn will be released on April 25, 2025 in theaters, just in time for the game's 10th anniversary, which is in August. As of now, the movie will exclusively be released in theaters but given it is a Sony production, it is likely that the horror movie will come to Netflix after its PVOD release. So viewers who intend to catch the movie will have to go to the theaters as it is not known when it will be made available to watch from home.

"A group spends the weekend in a ski lodge on the anniversary of their friends' disappearance, unaware that they are not alone."
