When It Rains in LA begins with Sasha, a widow haunted by the tragic death of her husband, Nate (Eric Roberts). Sasha’s move to LA introduces her to a seemingly mundane yet unsettling life with her friends Tatia, Alice and Leese. An ominous rainy night shifts the tone, introducing a stalker with cryptic calls and escalating terror.

The plot is further complicated by Sasha's involvement with the enigmatic pilot Harry and an unusual couple, Anna and William, who appear to have malevolent intentions. The friends are confronted with inexplicable horrors as they gather in a powerless house during a storm, which culminates in a rain-soaked confrontation.

The film captures the rarely-seen rainy LA, which adds an eerie charm to its setting. The narrative is visually enhanced by cinematographer Preston Weaver, who depicts the city in a state of distress.
