Fivio Foreign recently released a diss track titled PlaqueBoyMax, on January 20, 2025. The rapper confirmed the song's arrival through two Instagram posts on the same day. One of them featured a photo of himself captured at an unknown spot, with his latest track playing in the background, and the caption of the post reads:
"This is an example & motivation for anybody watching. You are in control of your own narrative, choices & your own path. S/o to @plaqueboymax for handling this situation like a G. Fivio Foreign - PlaqueBoyMax Out Now."
Notably, the title of the track refers to the YouTuber and streamer with the same name, and the news of the song's release comes almost a week after a snippet of Fivio's track, originally posted on TikTok, went viral. According to Billboard on January 13, Fivio could be heard referencing his real first name "Maxie" in the lyrics, as he rapped:
"And my real name Max/ And I really got plaques/ Double digits, no cap."
The snippet started trending after Fivio Foreign appeared alongside Lil Tjay on PlaqueBoyMax's livestream, and the duo was requested by the YouTube star to not smoke weed inside the Airbnb they were in. However, Fivio and Tjay did not pay attention to PlaqueBoyMax and eventually left the streaming session, as stated by Complex on January 7.
On the other hand, netizens took to the comments section of DJ Akademiks' Instagram post on January 20 to share their reactions to Fivio Foreign's song. One of them wrote:
"This song is so Demonique."
Fivio's fans continued appreciating the single, while a user praised how the rapper was dancing in the video. However, another person claimed that the clip was "cringe," followed by an individual alleging that the situation from where the song emerged could possibly be scripted. A third user alleged that the track was just a way to get more views.
Fivio Foreign's new single is trending online and has already received more than 100,000 views on YouTube. As the title resembles the name of YouTuber PlaqueBoyMax, the online personality took to Twitch to respond to the track on the same day it was released.
Also known as Maxwell Elliot Dent, he was heard saying that Fivio has previously "made music with Kanye West." As per Rap-Up, he referred to the new song as he stated:
"He has dropped a song in my name. I'm so honored. I'm more than honored. This is insane."
PlaqueBoyMax also mentioned that it wouldn't have made sense to him if someone had said that Foreign would release an anthem for him to "start the year." Notably, Fivio's song featured lyrics referring to the weed-smoking moment that happened during the live-streaming session earlier this month.
"That's why I gotta leave/ I smoke a blunt and went viral for the week/ I got a lot of breesh/ Need a streamer to make 'em as hot as me," the lyrics read.
Fivio Foreign has released only one album till now, called B.I.B.L.E., which came out in 2022. He also has three EPs in his credits, including Pain and Love, 800 B.C., and Without Warning.
