5 key details about the murder of Rob Limon

1) Rob Limon was shot at his workplace and his murder was staged to look like a robbery

While everything seemed to be going well for the Limon family, Rob was suddenly shot to death by an unknown assailant on August 17, 2014, while he was working at the BNSF railyard in Tehachapi, about 80 miles away from where he lived.

The scene of the crime was disguised in a way that it seemed that there was a robbery attempt.

2) Rob Limon was a victim of a love triangle

Though Rob and Sabrina Limon's marriage was hardly an ordinary one, with both agreeing to an open marriage, Sabrina allegedly fell in love with a 22-year-old firefighter named Jonathan Hearn and wanted to spend her life with him.

Because she could not divorce Rob for fear that her social standing would be destroyed, she decided to get rid of her husband for good. She even enlisted the help of Jonathan Hearn in carrying this out. He ultimately ended up being the one to pull the trigger.

3) This was not the first time that Sabrina attempted to kill her husband

A chilling detail that emerged during Hearn's testimony during Sabrina's trial was that the woman had been trying to kill her husband for quite some time and had even attempted to poison him by lacing his banana pudding with arsenic. She also allegedly planned to burn him inside his car.

4) Jonathan Hearn became the chief witness against Sabrina Limon

Though Jonathan Hearn never denied that he was the one to pull the trigger, just two days before he went to trial, he decided to cooperate with the police in exchange for a reduced sentence. He not only revealed Sabrina's involvement but he also served as the star witness in her trial, effectively getting her the deserved punishment.

5) Both Jonathan Hearn and Sabrina Limon continue to remain in prison for the murder of Rob Limon

While Jonathan was already in custody and was charged with the murder first, his testimony ensured that he got a lesser sentence. He was ultimately given 25 years and four months in prison with the possibility of early parole.

As for Sabrina, she was found guilty on four of the six counts against her, which included first-degree murder. She was sentenced to 25 to life in prison. They both continue serving their sentences as of now.
