According to an article published on TV Insider (January 8, 2025), on the set of CBS Television City in Los Angeles last August, comedian Drew Carey left the cast and crew in stitches with a joke that rendered host Nate Burleson speechless and left executive producer Drew Barrymore mock-gasping in shock.

Barrymore, who occupies the iconic center square, is set on pushing boundaries while maintaining the warmth and inclusivity of the original series.

“I think we’re going to push the envelope here, which I like. I’m a naughty, irreverent, rebellious person. I always have been too. I want the gosh-darn goodness. I want people to be happy. I want them to be safe and protected and fought for. But I am not a goody two shoes,”- Said Drew Barrymore, as per TV Insider article published on January 8, 2025.

The article also reported Barrymore’s playful energy is evident on set, with the actress known to spontaneously run around, interact with contestants, and even pull off lighthearted stunts like yanking out hair extensions. Co-host Nate Burleson, stepping into the role of emcee, acknowledges the show’s multi-generational appeal.

The upcoming revival boasts an all-star lineup, including Tyra Banks, Julie Bowen, Whitney Cummings, and Gabriel Iglesias, with Barrymore’s interviews with co-stars like Jay Leno and Justin Long. As per Entertainment Weekly (November 19, 2024), Barrymore hinted at unexpected moments, such as a kiss between Tyra Banks and Nate Burleson during filming.
