3 WWE Superstars who are legitimately injured (Updated November 2024)

WWE Superstars are not much different from combat sports athletes. In addition to maintaining similar fitness levels, they are also vulnerable to injury, which can occur at any time.

Drew McIntyre battled CM Punk in a grueling Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. After suffering legitimate injuries, McIntyre is yet to be seen again on TV. AJ Styles injured his ankle last month, and there is no definitive timeline for The Phenomenal One's return.

More WWE stars entered the growing injury list this month. Fortunately, most of these injuries weren't career-threatening.

#3. Rhea Ripley is fighting through a fractured orbital bone

Rhea Ripley's injury technically took place in the final days of October as The Eradictor was written off TV following a two-on-one assault by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Ripley didn't fly to Saudi Arabia for WWE Crown Jewel and missed a few weeks.

Luckily, a fractured orbital bone wasn't enough to keep Mami down for long, as Ripley returned on RAW last week to join the babyface team in the Women's WarGames match. The Eradicator will finally have Morgan and Rodriguez locked inside a massive cage.

The effects of her legitimate injury were apparent as the former Women's Champion was sporting a face mask, imparting her a new look. Sheamus and Cody Rhodes incorporated these masks well into their character, and Rhea Ripley could use her injury as inspiration to revive her persona.

#2. WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill was the victim of a mystery attack on SmackDown as her motionless body was found lying on top of a car's hood. Cargill was removed from the Women's US Title tournament and the WarGames match.

However, a report from Fightful claimed that the mystery assailant angle was designed to cover legitimate injuries, but the nature of the injury was not revealed. Fans have more questions than answers, but Big Jade will be off-screen for a while.

The Storm is one-half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, too. Hence, her real-life injuries may result in Belair relinquishing the titles.

#1. Tama Tonga

On SmackDown, Paul Heyman introduced CM Punk as the final member of The Original Bloodline's team at Survivor Series: WarGames. Punk's return sparked a massive brawl as the babyfaces stood tall to close the show.

The WWE Universe got a small preview of the brutality in store for the Men's WarGames match as Tama Tonga had to receive medical attention following the brawl. The Bloodline member required stitches, but no significant damage was done.

Tama Tonga is the workhorse of The Original Bloodline, and as one of the most dangerous members on the WWE roster, his health is of paramount importance to Solo Sikoa's team.
