5 big WWE returns that could take place at Crown Jewel 2024

WWE always tries to pull out all of the stops for Crown Jewel and other premium live events in Saudi Arabia. Legends like The Undertaker, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H have all returned to action for events in Saudi Arabia.

At the moment, only two matches are booked for the show. Liv Morgan and Nia Jax will battle it out to become the first Women's Crown Jewel Champion. Cody Rhodes and Gunther will do the same for the newly-created men's title.

With all four major champions competing, many prominent names could pop up to set up future matches. The next five big returns could take place at Crown Jewel 2024.

#5. John Cena competed at last year's Crown Jewel

The former face of WWE announced that he'd be officially hanging up his boots at WrestleMania 41. The Money in the Bank announcement wasn't a huge shock due to Cena's reduced schedule in recent times.

At last year's event, Cena put over the new Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa. Sikoa won in a pretty dominating fashion. That match spilled over into The Bloodline saga during and at The Show of Shows.

With his international clout, the former multi-time champ could pop up for an in-ring segment or confront someone like Gunther or Cody Rhodes.

#4. Charlotte Flair could return from injury

The Queen was injured last December, putting her on schedule for a potential return at any point in the next few months. Her comeback could be saved as a Royal Rumble surprise.

A return on an episode of SmackDown to randomly challenge the champion would also fall into her usual angles. However, both titleholders are competing against each other at Crown Jewel.

Emerging in Saudi Arabia would be the perfect declaration of intent for Flair. WWE often doesn't know how to book her in non-title programs. When she is ready to go, expect her to be gunning for gold.

#3. Becky Lynch shocks the world by returning to WWE in Saudi Arabia

While the show must go on, it's been strange to watch the WWE product without either Flair or Becky Lynch for portions of 2024. Both women have been so heavily pushed during their tenures that it's been a blessing and a curse for the women's division.

Having both stars provided the division with dependable names. A positive of not having either woman active lately is that it's allowed the spotlight to fall on other women.

Liv Morgan, Michin, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and others have been featured in spots previously utilized for Big Time Becks or The Queen.

Lynch could announce her return to WWE by showing up after the big title match. She has issues with both Jax and Morgan and her interjection into their business wouldn't be random.

#2. Goldberg costs Gunther his match with Cody Rhodes

Something has to come from the confrontation between Gunther and Goldberg at Bad Blood. The Ring General insulted the WWE legend, causing him to jump the barricade. Security and officials held both men back, setting things up for a future showdown.

Goldberg has always wanted a proper retirement match. Whether it comes against Gunther remains to be seen. Since WWE will need to protect the loser of the Crown Jewel Championship match, someone will probably interfere.

Due to the narrative already told, the former NFL player interfering could be a strong possibility. He's been used regularly in Saudi Arabia and may pop up to exact a measure of revenge on The Ring General.

#1. The Rock is headed for a big match next year

Like Goldberg, The Rock made an appearance at Bad Blood in Atlanta. While Goldberg was in the crowd as an invited guest, The Rock trotted out at the end of the show to put everyone in the ring on notice.

His intentions may be unknown but his targets are not. Since the beginning of the year, Rocky has been involved with The Bloodline drama. He allied with Sikoa, Jimmy Uso, and Roman Reigns to battle Cody Rhodes.

Now that the dynamics changed since WrestleMania 40, what are his intentions? Since both major champions will fight at Crown Jewel, the Rock will likely come out again with his "title."

He wants an actual championship recognized by officials, like Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Title. To further tease a future showdown, The Rock could return to screens again at Crown Jewel.
