R-Truth is indeed one of the most beloved WWE Superstars in the Stamford-based promotion. He is known for his hilarious antics that would make even the most serious colleague break character, and in some cases, burst out in laughter. The veteran manages to do all of this while delivering his part during segments and keeping a straight face.
The abovementioned has been well documented over the years, and his colleagues are constantly surprised by whatever he pulls off whenever they are doing a promo together.
Here are some of the WWE Superstars who fell victim to his comedic genius and unpredictability:
This was during the June 8 episode of RAW in 2015, where R-Truth butted in during a segment regarding Money in the Bank featuring Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler, and Kane.
He went on to announce his participation in the bout, when Kane burst his bubble, telling him that he was not even in the match. After learning that he was not part of it, a confused Truth apologized to both Kane and the fans.
Meanwhile, Ziggler and Reigns were both seen in stitches with what had transpired at the time.
Carmella and R-Truth teamed up in 2019, and the former helped the latter retain the now-defunct WWE 24/7 Championship.
One of which was a segment on RAW in June of that same year where former superstar Drake Maverick demanded a match from Truth for the 24/7 Championship. There was a part where Maverick mentioned the idea of a marriage that hadn't been consummated.
Truth confused 'consummated' with 'constipated,' which cracked up the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.
R-Truth also made Randy Orton break character during an episode of RAW in July 2020.
During a backstage segment featuring Orton and Ric Flair, Truth crashed into The Viper when he was being chased by Akira Tozawa and his ninjas. When he saw Flair, the then-24/7 Champion mistook the 16-time World Champion for Tozawa. Orton was seen covering his face to conceal his reaction and quickly sprung back to character.
There were numerous instances where R-Truth made Damian Priest break character during his interaction with the villainous faction The Judgment Day.
A notable encounter was during the December 18, 2023, episode of RAW, where Truth insisted that he was a member of the faction. During the segment, there was a part where he was talking to Priest, and The Archer of Infamy could not help but let out a smile.
Truth’s interaction with the group ended with them agreeing to his pitched stipulation match against JD McDonagh that whoever loses leaves The Judgment Day.
Similar to WWE legend Ric Flair, R-Truth mistook the promotion’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, for another superstar.
This was during an episode of RAW where the head of creative, alongside Adam Pearce, introduced the new WWE World Tag Team Championship to The Miz and Truth.
After unveiling the new belts, Truth’s suspicion struck anew and mistook Triple H for one-half of the reigning WWE Tag Team Champion (alongside Johnny Gargano) Tommaso Ciampa. This made the creative spearhead let out a smile as he struggled to keep his composure.
R-Truth’s "childhood hero," John Cena, also fell victim to his comedic antics. This is despite the fact that he was a heel at the time.
This happened in May 2011 during an episode of RAW where the WWE Hall of Famer Bret 'The Hitman' Hart was cutting a promo before he was rudely interrupted by Truth.
The former 24/7 Champion insisted on having a title shot, calling the then-WWE Champion John Cena to get in the ring. Truth and Cena let on some verbal jabs at each other, and when it came to the part where the latter highlighted that they used to be cool, the former then uttered, “Used to is a rooster from Brewster.”
Cena gave out quite the chuckle with Truth's timely retort and his request was granted.
Even The Beast Incarnate himself was no match for R-Truth’s comedic timing when they met inside a WWE ring.
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were doing a promo for the Royal Rumble 2020 when they were interrupted by Truth. He declared that he would be joining the eponymous match and vowed to send Heyman over the top rope. However, after learning that it was Lesnar who would be competing, Truth withdrew his participation, adding that he did not want Lesnar to send him to “Sioux Falls City.”
This whole interaction made The Beast burst into laughter, though he managed to pull things together and went on to deliver his signature F5 to Truth. It was later revealed that prior to the segment, he was tapped to make Lesnar break character, which he successfully did.
