CM Punk and Roman Reigns were part of a sitdown meeting on WWE SmackDown this week. During the segment, it was made clear that Paul Heyman would owe The Second City Saint for his help at Survivor Series.
He noted that he would owe him a favor, something that Heyman refused to reveal on SmackDown, which left Reigns feeling like his Wiseman was still acting shady. There are a number of things that Punk could be pushing for following Survivor Series, the most obvious would be for him to want Heyman back.
Roman Reigns has made such big strides on SmackDown over the past few years because of Paul Heyman, but it's also Reigns' fault that Solo Sikoa assaulted him.
This situation is clearly unsafe for Heyman, which could be why Punk could push for Reigns to end his alliance with his Wiseman and convince him to move over to RAW with him instead.
Punk and Heyman were an unstoppable team at one point and could once again recreate that alliance ahead of the move over to Netflix.
Win or lose, Punk could argue that he still stepped up for Roman Reigns and helped him against his own family, which could lead to him pushing for this favor.
Heyman hasn't been on SmackDown for several weeks, and Reigns has been able to function without him. He arguably works better as a face without his Wiseman. Punk could be doing him a favor by moving him over to RAW ahead of the move and allowing him to then work with some newer faces.
Heyman has always been able to make stars out of WWE's most unexpected names, and this could be his chance to break away from Reigns for good but end on amicable terms.
