A WWE Hall of Famer has reiterated that his wrestling career was as good as over and that he had little desire to return to the business. Kurt Angle mentioned that he had moved on from the industry and didn't have anything else to prove.

Angle is one of the most beloved legends in WWE history, who made the jump to pro wrestling after winning an Olympic gold medal in amateur wrestling. He quickly established himself as a workhorse and went on to have an illustrious career not only in the Stamford-based promotion but also in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Kurt Angle wrestled his final match at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, where he lost to Baron Corbin, and has since stayed away from the squared circle.

In a recent appearance on the Storytime with Dutch Mantell podcast, Angle ruled out a return to wrestling in any form. The 56-year-old legend explained that he didn't have the desire or felt the need to come back in a new role. He added that he was content with how his career panned out over the last three decades.

"No. You know what, Dutch, I'm at a point in life where I'm okay. I don't need to do that anymore. I don't need to prove who I was or add anything to my legacy. I've had a pretty damn good career and I'm proud of it," said Kurt Angle. [1:04:13 - 1:04:28]

Kurt Angle was disappointed with Baron Corbin WWE's release

A couple of months back on Busted Open Radio, Kurt Angle didn't hold back before criticizing WWE for releasing Baron Corbin. Angle believes after defeating him at WrestleMania 35, Corbin should have been promoted to the main event spot. The wrestling legend firmly believes Baron Corbin could have been a World Champion if he was booked correctly during his time in the promotion.

"Baron's [Corbin] really talented. I see a lot of potential in him. I was really disappointed with what WWE did with him. I mean, they pushed him at first and they had him beat me at WrestleMania [35] for my retirement match, which is fine. I was okay with that. Afterward, they had him win the King of the Ring tournament, and he kinda fell off. He fell off the radar. And he never really made it back, at least not to the extent that he should've been. I mean, when you win King of the Ring, you're going to be a future World Champion, and that did not happen for Baron. I was really disappointed," Angle said.

Corbin's non-compete clause with WWE officially ended earlier this month, and it remains to be seen what his future in the wrestling business holds.
