Becky Lynch reveals original plans for career changing WWE segment

WWE Superstar Becky Lynch recently spoke about the original plans set in place for a memorable segment that aired four years ago. The Man has been absent from television for six months.

During the opening segment of the May 11, 2020, edition of the red brand's show, the 37-year-old revealed her pregnancy and consequent departure from the squared circle. She vacated her RAW Women's Title and announced Asuka, who won the Women's Money in the Bank the previous night, as the new champion.

In her book, Becky Lynch revealed the creative team had different plans for the announcement. When asked about the same in a recent interview with Vulture, the former champion talked about the original idea, claiming it to be a bad pitch. Becky further pointed out that she fought the creative team to force the change.

"The whole thing was supposed to go down in this crazy way, where they wanted me coming out and challenging the backstage interviewer. Then Asuka would come out, and I would say all these just elaborate, robust words. It was bad. It was just very bad. But I was also very hormonal. I was ready to punch somebody. You got to know what hills to die on. When you’re early weeks of pregnancy, you don’t know those hills. You’ll die on all of them. I was ready to fight, and I fought. It was better than it was otherwise intended," she said. [H/T: Vulture.com]

Current WWE champion extends support to Becky Lynch following her decision to take a break

Becky Lynch's last WWE match ended in defeat against Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship in a Steel Cage Match on the May 27 edition of RAW. Her contract with the global juggernaut expired on June 1, and she has yet to make her return.

In an interview with Denise Salcedo earlier this year, Bianca Belair claimed to be super supportive of Lynch. The EST of WWE praised the latter, calling her a friend outside the ring.

"I'm just super supportive of Becky, of whatever space she's in right now, what she wants to do. Everyone knows how pivotal Becky was for my career. Not just inside the ring, outside the ring. She's someone that I've always been able to go to and lean on, just for advice and as a friend. I would call Becky my friend. She's someone who has stood up for me, who has led me, who has taught me," she said.
