CM Punk will end the year with a bang in WWE with a World Title shot. Meanwhile, the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther had a message for The Second City Saint ahead of their showdown.

Over a decade ago, CM Punk was the longest-reigning WWE Champion in the Stamford-based promotion. However, The Second City Saint got busy feuding with Paul Heyman and his clients and rarely got a shot at championship gold in the company after that.

Recently, it was revealed that CM Punk would get a World Title match for the first time in over a decade in the Stamford-based promotion against the current World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. Today, The Ring General had a message for The Straight Edge Superstar on X (fka Twitter) before they get locked up inside a Steel Cage.

"Tomorrow in Chicago," Gunther wrote.

In 2013, CM Punk was in his last World Title match in the Stamford-based promotion when he faced Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship and won via disqualification.

CM Punk will face Seth Rollins on WWE RAW

Even before he made a shocking return in Chicago, Seth Rollins had been against the idea of CM Punk returning to the Stamford-based promotion. When The Second City Saint returned, The Visionary was furious and expressed his displeasure on different occasions.

However, Rollins was livid when he saw The Second City Saint next to the Original Tribal Chief as his fifth member for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, where Punk saved Reigns. On Monday Night RAW following the event, Seth Rollins and CM Punk brawled in the ring.

The animosity between the two reached new heights as they'd previously never gotten physical since CM Punk's return to WWE. This led the management to take a decision and announce a one-on-one match between the pair on Monday Night RAW's Netflix premiere on January 6, 2025.

The duo are set to headline the first-ever RAW on Netflix and it'll be interesting to see which star leaves with the win and how these two megastars conclude their story in the coming weeks before heading to WrestleMania 41.
