Cody Rhodes kicked off tonight's edition of SmackDown with plenty of words to share. Specifically, he guaranteed that WWE will see significant alterations in the near future.
In Phoenix, Arizona, Cody Rhodes began the show by joking about the unpredictable nature of timing and hinted at WWE's plans to revolutionize professional wrestling.
He mentioned "big changes," including SmackDown's expansion to a three-hour format and RAW's upcoming move to Netflix.
"Timing is a funny thing in life, just as it is in this industry. We're on the cusp; WWE is on the cusp of changing everything. Not just about WWE, not just about sports entertainment, but about pro wrestling itself. It starts tonight, SmackDown, going three hours here in Phoenix, and then, of course, Monday Night RAW going to Netflix," claimed Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes then revealed he was not cleared to wrestle and spoke of his impending match at the Royal Rumble with Kevin Owens. While that was important, his point on the WWE changing everything in pro wrestling is huge.
As of this writing, there is no telling what other big changes WWE will undergo. The company is firmly in the Triple H era, and The American Nightmare has already been a huge part of it. Now, it will be interesting to see what else the Stamford-based promotion has in store for the WWE Universe.
