Ex-WWE World Champion gives his honest opinion of Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon was the man behind the chair in WWE for decades before he had to leave. Recently, a former World Heavyweight Champion gave his honest opinion of his former boss.
McMahon often pushed superstars with bigger and more muscular frames in the Stamford-based promotion, and The Great Khali fit the bill. The Punjabi Playboy was a monster heel on SmackDown and worked with WWE for nearly a decade under the 79-year-old's leadership.
In an interview with The Lallantop, the former World Heavyweight Champion was asked if he's a fan of anyone from the wrestling world. The 52-year-old veteran stated he was a fan of Vince McMahon and gave his honest opinion of the former chairman after his time with the Stamford-based promotion.
"If I'm being honest, in the wrestling world, I'm a Vince McMahon fan. I've learned a lot from him, and he's a great guy. People think he's stupid because of the character he plays on-screen, but he's a very smart guy. He's a great guy and very honest. No matter what he says, I know he's blunt. The Great Khali was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame under Vince McMahon's regime
After making his debut for the Stamford-based promotion, The Great Khali became a force to be reckoned with in the coming months and feuded with notable names. Later, he made history when he captured the World Heavyweight Championship.
In the coming years, the veteran became an attraction and took part in Kiss Cams with less significant feuds on the card. In 2014, he was released from WWE but he departed on a good note.
Later, he made several sporadic appearances for the company during the Vince McMahon regime. However, he never returned to WWE full-time as he was more focused on his own wrestling school in India.
In 2021, the company immortalized The Great Khali as he became a Hall of Famer. It'll be interesting to see if the veteran makes an appearance for the Stamford-based promotion under the Triple H era.
