Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently raised some big questions on Bronson Reed's push on RAW. He felt Seth Rollins' actions were hampering WWE's portrayal of Reed as a monster heel.
Over the last few months, Reed has emerged as an intimidating force on the RAW roster. He put Seth on the shelf for over two months after his vicious attack on the star on the RAW after SummerSlam. Once The Visionary returned, the two men reignited their rivalry and met in a singles match at Crown Jewel.
This week on Russo's The Brand, the veteran writer claimed that Seth was not selling any of the wear and tear from his Crown Jewel encounter this week on RAW. He pointed out that Bronson Reed wouldn't get the necessary heel heat if Rollins didn't show that he was already injured before Reed attacked him again. Russo wondered whether Seth didn't care anymore about how the storyline played out.
"When the heel comes out, you're putting more heat on him if he's annihilating a wounded bird, you're putting more heat on him. If Seth is not selling at all and Bronson Reed comes out and does what he does, you're not putting the heat on Bronson Reed you should be putting on him. Does Seth just not understand the basic fundamentals of wrestling or does he just not give a sh*t?" [From 2:47 - 3:21]
Seth Rollins was in a Fatal Four-Way match this Monday against Damian Priest, Sheamus, and Dominik Mysterio to determine the new number-one contender for Gunther's World Heavyweight Championship.
Halfway into the match, Reed suddenly appeared and hit successive Tsunamis on Priest and Sheamus in the ring. He then smashed Rollins with a devastating Tsunami on the announcer's table, completely taking him out of the match. Later, Priest picked up the win with a South of Heaven Chokeslam to Dirty Dom.
It will be interesting to see what lies next in this deeply personal rivalry unraveling between Reed and Rollins.
