A current WWE Superstar has finally made her return to the ring after over eight months out due to a serious knee injury. Last night's NXT Live Event in Lakeland, Florida, saw Gigi Dolin make her long-awaited in-ring comeback.
She defeated Cora Jade at the show, wrestling her first match since the March 12 episode of NXT, where the former Toxic Attraction member lost to Arianna Grace by disqualification.
Dolin remained on WWE television for a few more weeks, continuing her storyline with Grace. However, she was abruptly removed upon suffering a knee injury, initially reported to be a torn ACL. The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion was expected to miss up to a year of in-ring action, but that fortunately wasn't true.
She is now back wrestling. It remains to be seen when Gigi Dolin is back regularly on WWE television, though. She did make an appearance in the show-opening video package for Halloween Havoc last month.
With how much the show's women's division has grown since her injury, Dolin will hope for a completely fresh start once she officially returns. The NXT Women's North American Championship has also been introduced in her absence.
Speaking of the NXT women's division, a few of its biggest names will be showcased in the annual Iron Survivor Match at next month's Deadline premium live event. Sol Ruca, Stephanie Vaquer, and Zaria have all qualified for it so far.
On the male side, Wes Lee, Je'Von Evans, and Nathan Frazer have qualified so far. It will be interesting to see which superstars will complete the field in both matches. Meanwhile, Trick Williams will defend his NXT Championship against Ridge Holland.
The former main roster star earned a title shot after defeating Andre Chase and ending the existence of Chase U in the process. Holland even pinned Williams a few weeks ago in a tag team match that also featured WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley.
