A WWE Hall of Famer last competed in the Stamford-based company 16 years ago. WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently addressed the possibility of the aforementioned legend returning to compete in the Men's Royal Rumble.

Ric Flair has had several retirement matches over the past few decades. His last one came in 2022 when he teamed up with son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. Meanwhile, The Nature Boy has not wrestled in WWE since 2009 when he squared off with Randy Orton in an unsanctioned match on Monday Night RAW. A recent report from PW Insider claimed the Stamford-based company hopes to have the 75-year-old be part of the Men's Royal Rumble this year.

Addressing these rumors on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts did not rule out the possibility of seeing the 16-time world champion compete in the upcoming Royal Rumble. However, he disclosed that he does not believe it would happen:

"I saw people on Facebook writing that Ric Flair was gonna pop in. I don't think so. I hope not. But could be," he said. [58:56 -59:00]

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair addressed his wrestling future

During a recent interview with the Five Star podcast, Ric Flair claimed he had one more match left in him. Bronson Reed then took to Twitter to send a warning to The Nature Boy, claiming the WWE legend would die if he hit him with a Tsunami.

The 16-time world champion responded to Reed's threats, revealing that he would never wrestle again:

"No Return To The Ring Ever! Thankful For The Great Health And The Conditioning That Would Allow Me To. @Bronsonishere Couldn’t Tsunami Me On His Best Day!"

Flair has come out of retirement several times in his career. It would be interesting to see if it would happen once again at the Royal Rumble.
