Drew McIntyre kicked off the latest episode of WWE RAW with an emotional promo. He revealed that during his time away, he returned to Scotland to cope with a personal loss in his family. However, he expressed frustration, claiming no one cared enough to check on him.
This prompted Sami Zayn to interrupt the Scottish Warrior. Zayn acknowledged McIntyre's anger but explained that he had no idea what Drew had been dealing with in Scotland. He added that, just like everyone else, he assumed McIntyre was recovering from his brutal Hell in a Cell match against CM Punk.
"You're angry. You don't have to believe me; you could think everybody has got their ulterior motives, and that's fine. But I'm telling you me personally man to man I didn't know what happened to you while you were in Scotland. I thought, like everybody else, you were recovering from one of the most vicious Hell in a Cell matches of all time. I know that's what I thought, I know thats what the guys and the girls in the back thought, I know that what the fans thought," Zayn said.
Zayn wasn’t finished, though. He shared that he, too, has experienced personal loss in the past and had to work through it, sometimes even in the same week. He spoke about his personal sacrifices, like missing birthday parties and funerals.
He stated that these sacrifices are part of the life they chose as WWE Superstars. Zayn then urged Drew McIntyre to stop blaming others for his problems and reminded him of how fortunate they were to live their dreams in WWE.
