"If I were him, I wouldn't" - WWE Hall of Famer Kane sends major warning to The Rock
WWE Hall of Famer Kane delivered a warning to The Rock regarding his rumored career change in the future. The Big Red Machine, who serves as mayor of Knox County in Tennessee, doesn't recommend politics to The Final Boss.
In addition to being a wrestling legend, The People's Champion is one of the most recognizable celebrities in the world. He's a Hollywood movie star who expressed interest in potentially entering politics and even running for president of the United States.
Speaking to Scott Johnson of the Going Ringside podcast, Kane was asked if he wanted to see The Rock enter politics. The Knox County mayor discouraged The Most Electrifying Man in Sports and Entertainment from running for office because he would have enemies to deal with.
"If I were him, I wouldn't. Politics is incredibly contentious and toxic right now. Everybody likes Dwayne no matter where you are in the political spectrum because he's a great entertainer and he's just a good guy. Got to remember that no matter what you say in politics, 50% of the people are just going to n disagree with you and you're going to really tick some folks off. I mean I've had to deal with that obviously, so if I were him, I would advise him not to do that," The Big Red Machine said. [13:02 - 13:35]
Kane entered politics in 2018 and became the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. He ran for re-election in 2022 and won a second term against Debbie Helsley.
The Rock's latest answer when asked about running for president
In an interview with Patrick Bet David last September, The Rock was asked if he was open to running for president if his fans began to clamor for it. The Final Boss admitted that he was asked to run, but he has no interest in 2028 since he wants to spend as much time as possible with his daughters.
"I've been asked and I feel like my honest answer is I have little ones at home. I'm a girl dad, and right now, that's the most important thing. ... The most important thing is for me to be a daddy to my little girls," The Rock said. [2:12 - 3:14]
The Rock has two daughters, Jasmine and Tiana, with his second wife, Lauren Hashian. He also has an older daughter, Simone, with his ex-wife, Dany Garcia. Simone is currently signed to WWE as Ava, the general manager of NXT.
