Inconsolable WWE star breaks silence after losing championship

A top WWE star was inconsolable following one of the biggest losses of her career. Roxanne Perez was not happy after Giulia dethroned her as NXT Women's Champion on Tuesday at New Year's Evil 2025.

After 276 days as champion, Perez failed to defend her title against Giulia in a back-and-forth match. It was an evenly matched showdown, but Beautiful Madness pulled off the victory and secured her first championship in WWE.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the two-time NXT Women's Champion shared an image of herself with best friend Cora Jade looking miserable backstage. Perez even wrote a four-word message to her nearly 190,000 followers on the platform.

"Nobody talk to us," Perez tweeted.

While Roxanne Perez was down because she lost her precious championship, Cora Jade was unhappy after failing to become the number one contender for the NXT Women's North American Championship. She lost to Stephanie Vaquer in a Fatal Four-Way match that also involved Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan.

Vaquer is set to face Shotzi next week on NXT after the two had a confrontation backstage. Shotzi felt that she earned a shot at Fallon Henley's title after pinning the champion in their six-woman tag team match at New Year's Evil.

WWE announces NXT Vengeance Day location

The next premium live event under the NXT banner is Vengeance Day on February 15. WWE announced on Tuesday that it will be held at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.

Vengeance Day will be the first NXT premium live event to be streamed on Netflix, but only in international markets since RAW is the only available show on the platform in the United States. There are no matches scheduled for the event, but it will likely have a great card.

All the championships could be defended at the event, while some rivalries might make it to the card as well. One of the biggest feuds currently in all of WWE is Ethan Page vs. Je'Von Evans. Page took out Evans last month, and the young high-flying star is seeking revenge.

Vengeance Day is the likely place to build up the Road to WrestleMania 41 for many NXT talents. During WrestleMania weekend, the company holds Stand & Deliver.
