WWE is moving forward on the road to Royal Rumble after mounting significant momentum with the first RAW and SmackDown episodes of 2025. A polarizing superstar began the new year with a massive bang and is ready to follow up on tonight's edition of the blue brand.

Tiffany Stratton is less than a full week into her first reign as WWE Women's Champion. The 25-year-old rising superstar cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to dethrone Nia Jax of the title on the first SmackDown of 2025. Stratton turned on her ally after first helping Jax retain over Naomi in a 20-minute match.

Tiffany then took out the champion herself, Candice LeRae, and Bianca Belair who had also hit Jax with a K.O.D. Stratton then finished The Irresistible Force off with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. The Buff Barfie is set to return to the Friday night show as champion tonight. Officials have just announced that Stratton will address last week's blockbuster title change on tonight's SmackDown in Portland.

"After cashing in her Money in the Bank contract and defeating Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton is set to address the WWE Universe for the first time as WWE Women’s Champion. Do not be late for Tiffy Time, tonight at 8/7 C on SmackDown on USA," reads the official SmackDown preview.

The Irresistible Force is expected to challenge Stratton for the title at the Royal Rumble. It's likely that Jax will crash tonight's segment featuring the new champion.

Tonight's SmackDown will air live from the Moda Center in Portland. The episode will also see LA Knight challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship.
