Major star will return to cost Gunther at Crown Jewel; WWE analyst makes bold prediction

Gunther has a mighty challenge ahead at WWE Crown Jewel 2024 against Cody Rhodes. However, analyst Peter Rosenberg made a bold prediction and stated Goldberg could return to the Stamford-based company for the second time and cost The Ring General.

Gunther has often run into trouble due to his words rather than his actions. Nevertheless, The Ring General always backed it up inside the ring. Unfortunately, the same might be a bit difficult against Goldberg, to whom the World Heavyweight Champion said some unwarranted things.

Speaking on WWE Deutschland, the host asked Peter Rosenberg to pick a winner between Gunther and Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. The 45-year-old analyst picked The American Nightmare and predicted Goldberg's return to WWE, which would cost The Ring General for his past words:

"It's an interesting spot because it's really hard to picture either losing. Based on what happened at WWE Bad Blood, I can see Goldberg costing Gunther and helping out his Atlanta brethren, Cody Rhodes. Cody gets the win there, and we get Gunther vs. Goldberg at some point. It's very hard for me to picture either one of those guys getting beaten clean in the middle of the ring," Rosenberg said. (From 18:53 to 19:33)

Gunther recently defended his title on WWE RAW

Earlier this year, Gunther broke and set new records as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion. However, The Ring General was unceremoniously slayed at WrestleMania XL when Sami Zayn defeated him and ended his reign at 666 days.

Later, Gunther returned from hiatus and focused on winning the King of the Ring tournament and the World Heavyweight Championship. The Ring General achieved both goals, as he defeated Randy Orton and Damian Priest, respectively, in the coming months.

Unfortunately, he crossed paths with Sami Zayn and constantly refused to give him a title match. After resisting and getting into brawls with Zayn, The Ring General finally agreed to defend his title in a one-on-one bout against The Liberator.

However, the outcome was quite different. In the main event on RAW, Gunther defeated Sami Zayn and retained the World Heavyweight Championship. The Ring General has no title defense but will compete for a new title against Cody Rhodes in Saudi Arabia.
