Omos has taken Japan by storm, winning the GHC Tag Team Championship with Jack Morris on New Year's Day. He was recently mistaken for an NBA star before promoting his next match outside WWE.

After eight months off television, The Nigerian Giant was surprisingly announced as the newest member of the wrestling stable Team 2000X in Pro Wrestling Noah. He teamed up with Morris at Noah The New Year 2025 to defeat Naomichi Marufuji and Takashi Sugiura for the GHC Tag Team Titles.

The seven-foot-three behemoth has been having a good time in Japan based on several images and videos on social media. In a reel on X (fka Twitter) the one-time RAW Tag Team Champion was mistaken for an NBA star by an interviewer.

Omos corrected him and explained that he's a wrestler for WWE. He was then asked a series of random questions about his time in Japan, revealing that he enjoys eating yakinuku and was still adjusting to some traditions of the country.

At the end of the interview, the seven-foot-three giant promoted his next match for Pro Wrestling Noah on January 11 at the Noah Star Navigation Premium event. It will be held at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, and he'll be teaming up with Jack Morris to face Harutoki and Kaito Kiyomiya in a non-title match.

Omos has two more dates scheduled for the promotion, so it will be interesting to see if he'll continue working there or be back in WWE for the Road to WrestleMania 41.

The Undertaker compared Omos to a legendary WWE Superstar

Standing at seven-foot-three and weighing around 400 pounds, Omos is one of the biggest WWE Superstars in history. The Undertaker praised The Nigerian Giant in an episode of his Six Feet Under podcast back in November, comparing him to the legendary Andre the Giant.

"You can’t not love that guy. He’s such a good guy, and you like to see people like that succeed. I hope they find something good for him. ... I don’t think that he shouldn’t just squash. He is a modern-day Andre," The Undertaker said. [H/T Fightful]

It seems like The Nigerian Giant is well-liked in WWE despite his lack of booking in the past eight months. He seems to be gaining valuable experience in Japan, possibly in preparation for a return to television this year.
