Paul Heyman sends special message to Ronda Rousey following major announcement
Ronda Rousey and Paul Heyman are very familiar with each other. The wrestling legend was instrumental in the UFC Hall of Famer finding success early on in her WWE run. Now, after a massive announcement to kick off the new year, Heyman has reached out to Rousey with a special message.
The Four Horsewomen of MMA attended WWE SummerSlam in 2014. Already familiar with Brock Lesnar, Rousey met Paul Heyman backstage that night. She began working with WWE the next year at WrestleMania 31, then signed a full-time contract in 2017. The Olympic Bronze Medalist went on to win the 2022 Royal Rumble and became WWE's eighth Women's Triple Crown Champion with three singles reigns and one tag team reign. After abruptly leaving after SummerSlam 2023, Ronda later criticized WWE and top names while promoting her memoir.
The Wiseman was previously credited with encouraging Rousey creatively by the inaugural UFC Women's Champion herself. Heyman worked closely with Rousey as he produced part of her first WWE year and taught her to write her own promos. Now, a proud Heyman is celebrating Rousey's latest personal happening.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet and husband Travis Browne welcomed their second child together on January 9 of this year, a girl named Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha Browne. Heyman took to his Instagram Stories today to share Rousey's announcement to his followers. The WWE Hall of Famer included a congratulatory message to the family.
"MAZEL TOV to @rondarousey and @travisbrownemma (and PO!!!!) for the newest addition to their wonderful family!" Paul Heyman wrote.
Ronda and Travis confirmed their relationship in October 2015 and then got engaged in April 2017. The MMA fighters tied the knot on August 28, 2017, then welcomed their first child together on September 27, 2021.
Paul Heyman makes massive pitch for WWE
WWE officials have had their eyes on an Emmy for a while, as in some recent years, they held For Your Consideration campaigns in hopes of being nominated. There's been a debate on whether WWE programming should be eligible, and now Paul Heyman has made a strong case for the nod.
The Advocate recently made the Emmy pitch while speaking on the RAW Netflix premiere post-show. Heyman declared that he and Roman Reigns deserve an Emmy Award, as do Triple H and WWE in general. WWE shared a clip from Heyman's speech and touted more potential gold for Roman.
"That's some gold that @romanreigns hasn't had yet... [eyes emoji] [trophy emoji]," wrote WWE with the video below.
Monday's RAW Netflix premiere saw Reigns defeat Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat match for the Ula Fala and the title of Tribal Chief. Heyman was involved in a viral moment with The Rock, which saw The Head of The Table formally receive the Ula Fala.
