Sami Zayn recently opened up about a current WWE Superstar, mentioning that though he disliked him personally, he deserved to be respected. The OG Bloodline member feels Drew McIntyre has stepped up his game over the past decade.
Zayn and McIntyre have been on a collision course over the last few weeks on RAW. The feud has so far fallen in The Scottish Warrior's favor as he won back-to-back matches against Sami Zayn, first at Saturday Night's Main Event 2024 and then on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW. It's also worth noting that Zayn hasn't registered a single win against McIntyre in one-on-one competition.
Amid this, the former Intercontinental Champion sat down for a chat on the Battleground Podcast, where he touched upon various topics. Sami Zayn touched upon his losing streak against Drew McIntyre and added that as much as he disliked his rival, his rise over the last few years was worth appreciating.
“I don’t really have the best win-loss record against him—actually, I have no wins over him, shockingly. But every time you get in there, you really test yourself against somebody like that. So yeah, I’m paying the price a little physically now, but still feeling good all things considered. He’s a beast, too. He’s really stepped up his game over the past few years. As much as I dislike him or whatever, you’ve still got to give him some respect. No question about it.” (H/T - WrestleZone)
On the latest episode of Sportskeeda's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo ripped into Sami Zayn for his impassionate promo on the Monday Night Show, where he spoke about choosing wrestling over family. Russo feels the promo reflected poorly upon the OG Bloodline member and that he came across as a selfish person.
"My point is don't boast about choosing wrestling over your family. That's nothing to be proud of bro. Like seriously. You're basically saying I'm a selfish prick and I wanted to be a professional wrestler. I chose to do this and make the decision to be away from my family. If that's your personal decision, that's fine but to be boasting about it? You're one of the lucky ones to be away from your family every week, what's an unlucky one then?"
Zayn was also in action on this week's SmackDown, where his match against Carmelo Hayes ended in DQ after the new Bloodline and Braun Strowman got involved.
