Seth Rollins opens up on retirement from WWE

Seth Rollins recently commented on his retirement plans from WWE as he inches closer to hitting 40. The former Universal Champion revealed that he still had more than a couple of years left in the tank before he would hang up his boots.

Rollins has been a mainstay in WWE for more than a decade now and is considered a workhorse who always steps up when the company needs him. However, going by how long he's been competing at the highest level, it's safe to assume The Visionary is in the final decade of his wrestling career.

In his recent appearance on the INSIGHT podcast, Chris Van Vliet quizzed Rollins about when he would walk into the sunset. The 38-year-old star explained that he could go beyond a couple more years as a full-time wrestler as the schedule wasn't as hectic as before, with less time being spent on the road.

“I think about it all the time. I am 38; I will be 39 in May. I think I’ve got more than a couple years left in me. The dynamic of the industry has shifted so much. I’m not wrestling 200 times a year anymore. I’m not on the road 300 days a year anymore. Live Events, non-televised events have kind of dissipated, which for me, guys like me, I’ve wrestled over 2,000 matches in my career, that’s nice for me. It’s just like riding a bike for me. We’ll see how it is for people coming up who need that experience; we’ll see what that looks like in a few years," Rollins said.

Furthermore, Seth Rollins also mentioned that with his and Becky Lynch's daughter growing up, he wants to spend more time with her.

"But with that schedule, I feel like I’ll be able to extend my career probably longer than I thought I was going to, and then it just depends on where I want to go from there; what I want to do next, and how much time I’d like to spend at home with my daughter; taking her to do things that are important to her; that are a lot more important than making towns," he added [H/T: Chris Van Vliet]

Seth Rollins lost to CM Punk on WWE RAW

After weeks of trading barbs on the mic and growing animosity, Seth Rollins and CM Punk finally went to war in the main event of WWE RAW's season premiere on Netflix. While the overall episode has received a mixed reception, The Best in The World and The Architect have drawn raves for their match.

The two performers left the LA fans on their feet with a memorable back-and-forth that ended with Punk hitting dual GTS on Seth Rollins to secure the win. It remains to be seen if this marks the end of their feud or if The Messiah will seek vengeance on The Second City Saint, resulting in another showdown down the line.
